On 25th June, CIM Wales hosted its third Forum event at the iconic Cardiff City Stadium.
Kindly sponsored by Orchard, the Marketing Skills Forum focused on how marketing professionals can develop their skills and thrive in a fast-changing sector.
As well as delivering fascinating insight, the event provided valuable networking opportunities for marketers looking to build alliances and relationships.
The event hosted a line-up of prominent practitioners and industry experts and covered a range of highly relevant topics, including successful team building, personal branding, utilising data for marketing, working with AI, building marketing champions, being resilient, and standing out in the job market.
Kerry Harrison, AI trainer, speaker and copywriter, opened the day with a session about making AI your Marketing Sidekick. Kerry gave an overview of today’s top Gen-AI tools and how they can augment your human skills. She also outlined possible pitfalls, explaining how AI can be your sidekick rather than your successor.

Alex Murphy, co-founder of leading financial services digital marketing agency Balance, talked about how to turn stakeholders into marketing champions by speaking your stakeholders’ language, securing bigger budgets, and proving your value where it counts.
Joanna Davies from The Clarity Hub talked about The Marketer’s Super-Power: Personal Brand. She shared her thoughts on why and how your personal brand can be your super-power, and how to avoid it becoming your Achilles’ Heel.
