Introducing our new Communication Ambassadors for the Midlands!
We are excited to share that two new Communication Ambassadors have joined the CIM Midlands committee, both bringing with them years of experience across different marketing disciplines and passion to drive the region forward.
At the end of November, Gemma Smith ACIM and Jade Jones ACIM were appointed the new roles to work alongside Communications Ambassador Katerina Pickup FCIM and Vice Chair-Communications Di Tunney FCIM.
Gemma is an award-winning marketing and communications professional with 10 years’ experience working for commercial and non-profit organisations. Currently Head of Marketing & Communications at CIWM, the UK’s leading professional membership organisation for the resources and waste management sector, Gemma is responsible for overseeing all of the organisation’s marketing, branding and PR activity.
In 2020 Gemma was named Marketing & Communications Executive of the year by the Association of Association Executives and is delighted to have the opportunity to help support fellow marketers in the Midlands: “I'm thrilled to be joining the CIM Midlands Regional Committee as a Communications Ambassador. Volunteering has been an important part of my career and I've seen first-hand the invaluable contribution volunteers make to professional membership organisations, so I'm excited to have the opportunity to help support fellow marketers in the Midlands area."
Jade has over 5 years’ experience in both B2C and B2B marketing and is currently a Marketing Coordinator of the Northern European Marketing team with global digital manufacturer Protolabs. She is responsible for driving large integrated campaigns that focus on both demand generation and balanced brand positioning, and always likes to push the boundaries of traditional marketing practices and MarTech to create efficiencies and new routes to market.
Securing her Level 6 CIM in Professional Marketing in 2021 and gaining Chartered Marketer status in 2022, professional investment is important to Jade to stay up-to date with latest industry trends to enable her to continually improve, and is something she aims to advocate for in her new role: “I am over the moon to be appointed Communications Ambassador and excited to work with the wider CIM Midlands committee. Marketing is a fast evolving and ever-changing industry and I can’t wait to help raise awareness of the great resources provided by CIM to marketers in the Midlands to help them with their continued professional development.”
If the past few years have shown us anything, it’s that Marketers need to stay on top of latest trends and industry insights as they are increasingly looked at to help find solutions, and support business growth. At CIM Midlands, we share the benefits of CIM membership and the latest resources and events to keep you in the loop. From events and discussion, to networking and training workshops, we are here to help you develop your career and become a more confident and resilient marketer.
