CIM sponsors outstanding graduates

We were proud to show our support yet again for De Montfort University’s budding marketers by sponsoring awards for top students completing their marketing programmes. This is the tenth year that we have sponsored DMU student awards, and were very impressed by the two selected winners.

Some descriptionStudent Sam Cherry was named best International Marketing and Business student. Aside from producing stellar work throughout his course, he also helped run BusinessWorks, a programme run by DMU Square Mile, which works to share the skills of students and staff with the community.

The CIM prize for best marketing project went to Stephanie Mandeville, whose dissertation examined using gamification to attract and keep new customers.

She completed a placement year with global computing company Intel and was awarded its European recognition award for her work.

Some descriptionDr Tracy Harwood, Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Creative Technologies and CIM board member said: “We are delighted to support DMU with prizes in recognition of the outstanding work produced by its students.  This year, Sam and Stephanie are deserving winners. Beyond university, demonstrating a high level of engagement in projects will certainly stand Sam in good stead in what it is a very competitive employment market.

“Stephanie’s dissertation on gamification is highly topical right now and this should also be very useful in stimulating employers’ interest in her! We wish them all the best and look forward to seeing them at our regional and branch events over the coming years.  We look forward to a continuing partnership with DMU, and will be interested to watch the careers of Stephanie and Sam develop.”
