CIM appoints new chair to its South West regional Board

The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) has announced that Claire Bryant, Associate Channel Manager at Cheltenham based manufacturer, Kohler Mira Ltd, will replace Brian Doidge as regional chair of CIM South West.

With more than 10 years’ experience working in marketing within the retail and manufacturing sectors including Screwfix, Claire brings extensive knowledge of customer-centric experience to the CIM South West board.

Since joining the CIM South West board in 2017, Claire has held positions such as education ambassador and vice chair, so has a good understanding of how the group works and has built strong relationships within the team over the years.

Looking to build on the strength of the CIM South West network through greater engagement between new and existing members, Claire said: “Brian has done such a wonderful job over the past 6 years in bringing together a great team and I have some very big shoes to fill. For me, the next year is about building on this. I really want to continue sharing inspirational information, creating even better content that is engaging to our local members.

“Working with local businesses is also a priority for me and I know we have a great team to make this happen. With COP26 starting this week, marketers across South West and UK businesses should be leading the way in changing the ways of working to create a more sustainable future for its customers. I want the CIM South West group to be seen as the ‘go to group’ for any local marketing expertise on topics such as sustainability and I’m excited for what we can achieve as a team.

“I’m also really keen to make a success of CIM’s Marketing Club initiative at our local universities. These are a great way for our passionate students to get involved with CIM and gives them an opportunity for an enhanced learning experience whilst studying.”

Maggie Jones, Director of Qualifications and Partnerships of The Chartered Institute of Marketing, concluded: “Claire brings the skills and expertise to the board, to ensure the group build on Brian’s fantastic work in achieving a better CIM experience for our South West members and the wider marketing community in the region.

“Marketers have a great opportunity to deliver real value to businesses, and the CIM South West board are working hard to promote new ways of delivering marketing activities as we look to recover from the Covid-19 pandemic.”
