Keynote, masterclass and CIM seminar speakers at this year’s Growing Gloucestershire Conference have been announced.
Keynote speakers headlining the conference will be David Drew, Vice Chair of Forest Green Rovers FC and Community Lead on Eco Park and Jason Smith, Chief Executive Officer of Marketing Gloucester. Both speakers were hand-picked to tell the county of their future plans at the conference for ‘growing’ Gloucestershire in 2016.
David Drew will inspire conference delegates with plans for the £100m investment project at junction 13 on the M5. Jason Smith will outline the success of the physical and cultural regeneration of Gloucester so far, and share plans for driving further growth and inward investment in the county’s administrative capital.
The conference is taking place on Wednesday 29 June at The Growth Hub at the University of Gloucestershire Oxstalls Campus in Gloucester. The annual conference is organised by Gloucestershire Professionals, a group whose members are volunteer representatives of professional institutes and membership bodies in Gloucestershire. Local CIM team members, Luan Wise, Fiona Spencer and Felicity McClintock are part of the conference’s organising committee.
For the first time the event will host a masterclass. CIM Gloucestershire's chair, Luan Wise, will be talking about common social media mistakes (and how to fix them).
CIM Gloucestershire team members, Fiona Spencer and Katie Underhill, will also present marketing seminar sessions. CIMA, CIPD, CMI will also be hosting seminars on financial management, people and management topics.
A highlight in Gloucestershire’s business diary, the conference attracts around 200 local business people every year and aims to provide
a platform for professionals to come together for a day to learn from some of Gloucestershire’s finest speakers to share best practice and provide networking opportunities. The day will be supported by county business co-sponsors Willans LLP solicitors and Omega Resource Group. Opening and closing addresses will be made by Simon Wall on behalf of Gloucestershire Professionals and David Owen, Chief Executive of GFirst LEP, with John Rockley as MC.
