Bournemouth based marketer, Simon Pride, has taken over the role of chair to lead the CIM (The Chartered Institute of Marketing) Dorset team. He will be at the helm of a team of volunteers who organise events and activities for local marketers and business professionals.
Simon has been head of marketing and communications at Arts University Bournemouth for the last four years. His department won two accolades at this year’s CIM Marketing Excellence Awards for Innovation and also the Chairs’ Grand Prix award.
Simon explains: “I am looking forward to leading CIM’s local team of volunteers to support and help local marketers to grow professionally across all stages of their marketing careers. The CIM Dorset team is currently planning a mix of networking opportunities and skill development and knowledge share events in Bournemouth and are actively engaging with the wider business and Higher Education community.”
Simon studied English Language and Literature at Hertford College, Oxford and became a CIM member in 2009. Prior to moving into Higher Education marketing, Simon worked within the creative agency sector for 25 years.
Members of the CIM Dorset team will be at Bournemouth University Graduate and Placement Fair on 12 November to answer questions from the next generation of marketers. Find out more on CIM in Dorset here.
