Three Dorset based food and drink brands will share their marketing insights and experiences with over 250 marketers, students and business professionals at the annual thought-provoking, Mike Warne Annual Marketing Communications Lecture 2015 on 25 February 2015 at Bournemouth University.
Final year BA (Hons) Marketing students at Bournemouth University who organise the lecture with the support of CIM have secured three leading food and drink marketers to discuss the importance of their brand within an intensely competitive sector.
This year’s line-up includes; Anna Rosier, MD of Organix
Mark Cribb, the owner of Urban Guild, Jim Cregan from Jimmy's Iced Coffee and CIM Chief Executive, Anne Godfrey.
Established in 1992, Organix is a manufacturer of natural baby foods, using organic ingredients. Anna Rosier has led a 50 strong team to grow the brand and business through creativity, innovation and thought leadership, staying true to its founding principles but ensuring the business is fit for the future.
Mark Cribb owns a series of successful establishments on the South Coast including Urban Reef, the relaxed beach front café and restaurant, and Jenkins & Sons who produce charcoal cooked meat and fish as well as British craft beers. Mark is committed to both producing and sourcing fresh, local and seasonal produce that is both ethical and sustainable.
Jim Cregan’s ‘Iced Coffee’ business inspiration came to him and his wife whilst on their world travels. Following experimental sessions in 2010 to create the perfect iced blend – they sold their first carton to Selfridges in 2011 and now have listings with Waitrose, Ocado, Welcome Break petrol stations, Budgens and Tesco, plus a number of delis and cafes across the country.
Final year BA (Hons) Marketing student and one of the organising team, Armine Alaverdjana, explains the inspiration behind this year’s lecture:
“There are over 7,800 food and drink manufacturers in the UK that form part of a global food production and supply industry. Food and drink manufacturing is an intensely competitive sector, which means product branding and differentiating the brand is very important to ensure the product flies off the shelves. Our speakers are local brand leaders who will testify, the sector is still one where small and medium-sized enterprises can flourish with professional marketing and branding.”
Returning for its ninth consecutive year, the lecture is a key date in the University and CIM Dorset’s event diary for local marketing practitioners, students and business professionals. Last year’s event attracted over 300 attendees. Tickets for the evening presentation start from just £10.00 (free for students). Booking is essential. Book here.
