Ellie has worked in marketing for over 25 years, both in industry and in consultancy. She is a self-confessed strategy nerd and obsessed by making sure we deliver actionable, results focused marketing to benefit both our businesses and wider society.We have an obligation as professionals to understand the market place in which we operate, how to spot market opportunities and how to create business advantage through our activities. The targeting, the messaging, the channels, the creative then shakes out from this, remembering that what we say and how we say it makes all the difference.She has run her own strategy consultancy for 10 years, working with public and private organisations both B2B and B2C; with professional services, transport, tourism, retail, charity, health and fitness, food and drink clients. Ellie is very passionate about her work.Transport marketing has been a strong theme – trains, buses, planes and boats have all featured, right from her first role as PR Manager for the Port of Southampton; and it was a job as Commercial Director for the Waverley Paddle steamer that first brought her north of the border.Ellie has been a member of the CIM for many years and is FCIM, as well as having a Professional Diploma from the IDM and did her early professional qualifications with the CAM Foundation.She is also a Trustee of Social Bite, a Scottish based charity which is building a movement to end homelessness. Ellie feels fortunate to be working with an amazing marketers on the Scotland Regional Board who, like her, want to help promote the role of marketing in Scotland, champion best practice, support education and provide opportunities for all our ongoing learning and development, whatever stage of our marketing career we are.

Deliver talks, panels and expertise to the membership of the CIM in Scotland annually since 2010. Spoken on a wide range of marketing topics across the digital spectrum, volunteering my time to the CIM to further the development of digital marketing in Scotland. Vice Chair - Education
I have been delivering successful marketing strategies for 10 years within Higher Education and 20 years before that across Financial Services, IT and public sector. Most recently I was University Brand Strategist/Director of Marketing Communications at University of Glasgow, where I developed and implemented a new Brand Strategy – World Changing Glasgow. Currently, I am setting up a niche consultancy – watch this space for more details! With a 1st Class Honours degree in Marketing and the CIM Diploma, I have been a CIM member since 1987 and was elected a Fellow in 2017. I am proud to be a Chartered Marketer. I have been a member of the CIM Scotland Region Board since 2013 and currently fulfil the role of Education Ambassador.
Vice Chair - Communications
Having graduated in 2002 in marketing from Stirling University I have spent a career growing and developing in marketing, working both on the agency and client side.Much of my experience has focused on sports marketing leading the team who delivered a great deal of the sports and major sporting events marketing in the lead up to Glasgow 2014.A large proportion of my day to day marketing nowadays is at a strategic level driving the B2B and B2C objectives of my current organisation.In addition to my board position with the CIM I also offer marketing advice as a Non Exec Director on the board of Snowsport Scotland and as an Associate Director for Eden Scott.In my role as Ambassador I am looking forward to establishing the CIM’s position within the marketing community here in Scotland and ensuring we have the very best operators to drive our business forward.
Veronica has had 30 years of marketing, business development and international experience across a range of leadership and management roles in regional and national government as well as in education. Veronica is currently Vice Principal External Engagement at Perth College UHI.
Veronica also undertakes a number of voluntary board positions including within the Housing and University sectors.
Ishbel began her career in social media nine years ago, when she became The Drum’s first dedicated social media executive. After three years learning from viewing and reviewing fantastic social campaigns, she took her skills agency-side.Since then, she has worked with big-name brands such as Clydesdale Bank, digital bank B, SUBWAY Scotland, Highland Park and Worldwide Cancer Research to deliver social media and communication campaigns that drive results. As marketing manager for Hydrogen, Scotland’s largest dedicated social media agency, Ishbel is responsible for the creation and implementation of social media strategies across clients.Ishbel is passionate about learning and was delighted to be one of the first ACIMs in the UK to become a Chartered Marketer.
Rali began her career in marketing six years ago, when she joined RMP Enterprise as a Student Brand Manager. Whilst completing a joint degree in Marketing and Management at the University of Strathclyde, she delivered graduate recruitment campaigns for Centrica, Aldi, Hogan Lovells, JP Morgan, BA Systems and Nestle. Aside from brand management, during her studies she worked in events operations, managing events for clients including Yves Saint Laurent, Manchester United and Virgin Atlantic.
Following graduation in 2017, she joined the Scottish Institute for Enterprise as Events and Marketing Officer. There she has been able to combine her marketing and events experience with her passion for education by supporting SIE’s marketing team, managing a national calendar of events and supporting the delivery of the Scottish Innovative Student Awards - a three-stage Scotland-wide innovative skills development program.
Rali is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Marketing since 2018 and has completed the CIM Diploma in Professional Marketing.
Robert is an award-winning strategic marketer, commercial negotiator and expert within the sports sector.He has extensive experience working in senior roles for governing bodies including Welsh Rugby Union, Scottish Rugby Union and agency side advising global brands on sports marketing strategy. He has worked in the sector fifteen years after starting out his career as a sports journalist for Scottish TV before moving on to Setanta Sports. In his current role at Falkirk Trust he leads the marketing and sales team to deliver: Sports, Fitness, Heritage, Arts, Libraries, Parks and Outdoor activities.He has a keen interest in continuous professional development and is currently sitting the ICSA Corporate Governance exams.Robert joined the Scottish board in 2016 post completing the Professional Diploma in Marketing.His passions include hillwalking, running, golf and history.
