Sali Midjek-Conway, Vice Chair of Education for the North West CIM Board shares her excitement "We are delighted to see the University of Liverpool's Three Marketeers shortlisted in this year's The Pitch competition - and all female team! Myself and the rest of the North West Board are keeping our fingers crossed for the final this Friday!"

What is ‘The Pitch’?

The Pitch is an international competition designed to recognise and reward the marketing talent of the future.

Each year we task undergraduate marketing and business students in their second or third year of university with a real-life marketing challenge. This challenge is set by a leading global brand that allows students to apply their learning from their degrees in teams of two or three. This year’s sponsor for 2022 is the UK’s pharmacy-led health and beauty chain, Boots. The top ten teams will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas and demonstrate their ability virtually in front of true business professionals on 18 March 2022. If they impress the panel, they’ll be in the running for the winning prize to kick-start their marketing career and be named as CIM’s Marketers of the Future. The shortlist will be narrowed down to three teams and the winning team will be announced at a virtual live final on Friday,18 March 2022.

What does it mean to win?

The overall winning student team will be named CIM’s ‘Marketers of the Future’. They will also receive a one-year complimentary CIM membership and a £1,500 cash prize (to be shared amongst the team).

"The CIM ‘Marketers of the Future’ title would be a great kick start to navigating our marketing careers. It would be great to know our hard work has paid off." Ruby, from the three marketeers team, hopeful to see the team win, "The Pitch competition has given an insight into building campaigns through responding to trends and considering a specific target market. Presenting our ideas will boost our self-confidence and stimulate our personal growth."
