The CIM North East team is enjoying a busy summer period. We successfully held our first webinar ‘express’ in June, our chosen topic being ‘Shifting the Perception of B2B Marketing’. It was delivered by board member, Nicola Irving, head of strategic marketing and communications at Pearson Engineering.

Following the webinar express, we took part in Sunderland University’s first Marketing Hub, launched in June. This is part of a series of events delivered via CIM North East, North East Sales and Marketing Academy (NESMA) and the Sunderland Marketing Hub at Sunderland Business School.

Board members, Laura Carrick and Nicola Irving, along with CIM member, Sophie Palleschi, marketing and business development executive at Archers Law, spoke passionately about their careers in marketing, the CIM qualifications they had undertaken and some of the shifts that marketers face when it comes to digital marketing, buyer behaviour and the challenges of the pandemic.

Laura and board member Veronica Swindale, have also forged strong links with CIM Scotland and at the end of last year took part in a virtual presentation at Abertay University to fourth year graduates who are about to embark upon the world of work.

Speakers also included, Scottish Procurement and Fife Housing Group.

The graduates discussed their career journeys and explored how CIM has supported their transition from graduate to the workplace.

Veronica and CIM Scotland highlighted Graduate Gateway and the options of studying with CIM outside of university.

Our objective was to showcase the benefits of being part of the CIM network by building on self-development through the range of qualifications on offer and to also discover the benefits of tapping into the CIM support network.

With covid restrictions lifting and as we look further into the year, we are looking forward to our continued collaboration with a range of North East universities. They include Sunderland, Northumbria, Newcastle and Durham as we help to showcase the range of qualifications and career options on offer within our great region. We are also enjoying supporting the range of CIM exchange webinar express series. To find out more, please visit: https://cim.co.uk/events/
