Vice Chair vacancies on the North East Board

Following the forthcoming appointment of a new Chair for our North East Board we will be developing our team to deliver activities and engagement to support our members in the region. This will be by offering networking opportunities and events, promoting professional marketing practice, offering career development opportunities and engagement with the wider business community. The roles are voluntary and to be eligible you must be a voting member of CIM (ACIM, MCIM, or FCIM) based in the North East region. Appointments are for an initial term of office of three years.

Vice Chair Events and Education – The role will involve developing a strategy for events to be approved by the Board and implemented by the Vice Chair, alongside other events ambassadors and an education ambassador. This will involve identifying topics, speakers and venues, sponsorship and partnership opportunities and liaising with the Regional Events Team at CIM HQ. You will oversee our work with identified Graduate Gateway universities to promote local activities and events, deliver talks to students about marketing careers and CIM qualifications and membership.

Vice Chair Communications – The role, supported by other communications ambassadors, involves content marketing, curating and creating content for the North East regional website, developing our social media channels and acting as a point of contact for the CIM PR and Communications Team, based at CIM HQ and our external PR agency. You will liaise with our events ambassadors to promote the regional events programme.

Vice Chair Growth and Engagement – The role, working with other ambassadors on the Board, is to develop engagement with the wider business community in the region and to identify opportunities to work in partnership to promote best practice in marketing. It may also involve working on protects with segments of the membership such as senior marketers and to offer mentoring opportunities to others at an earlier career stage.
