CIM has today released details of the ninth category in their 2016 Northern Awards, sponsored by The Marketing Trust, which will be held in Newcastle on Thursday 03 November.

The CIM Northern Awards, now in its third year, celebrates the insight, creativity and success of the Northern marketing industry, the outstanding campaigns and the talent from across the region. There are 16 award categories, 12 of which are open to entries, and the evening event will once again be hosted by TV’s Andy Crane.

Diane Earles, Network Manager for CIM, said “We are thrilled to have Sarah Penney, Lecturer in Marketing at Manchester Metropolitan University, to judge our Digital category.” Sarah has successfully managed MMU’s Agency Life programme for 3 years, allowing students to develop employability skills in real work settings early in their courses. She teaches on a number of marketing courses and is currently reading for a PhD on the use of nostalgia as a communications tool in contemporary marketing.

Sarah, who is new to the awards, will be looking for the outstanding digital campaign that has successfully met objectives and delivered excellent results. This category won last year by MyCleverAgency and Gumtree for Gumtree’s sponsorship of Celebrity Big Brother 2015 – Making Gumtree the Biggest Personality Across Paid Earned and Owned Media.

The deadline for entries is 30 September 2016.
