Helen Stott DipM FCIM Chartered Marketer
Helen Stott is a long-time marketer and FCIM Chartered Marketer with a background in sales and experience in senior marketing roles and specifically over 16 years delivering marketing consultancy services.
Her experience is with working with businesses of all sizes from start-ups to multi-million-pound turnover global organisations including those in market sectors such as retail, engineering & manufacturing, professional services, and charities.
Much of her work with smaller businesses is where there has been a growing need for marketing, but where they are not quite ready to recruit. By working with them to develop their marketing strategy, implementing plans, and overseeing their initial campaigns the requirement to have marketing in-house is justified and she has taken great pride in seeing many roles being created in this way.
Northern based, Helen has recently moved counties from Cheshire to become a resident of Yorkshire. She says that CIM has been a constant resource throughout her marketing career and has particularly found the online webinars incredibly useful to stay relevant and is therefore delighted to be working with the delivery team on new events specifically within this region.

Rachael Simpson FCIM
Rachael is the Vice Chair - Events for CIM's Yorkshire Regional Committee and a seasoned marketing strategist. With 18 years of experience, Rachael has transitioned from leading in-house marketing teams to spearheading her own consultancy, focusing on brand communications and content strategy.
Currently, Rachael serves as a Marketing Strategist at BlackDice.ai, a tech scale-up in the cybersecurity industry that’s developing solutions for telecom operators to keep their customers safer online, using artificial intelligence and machine learning. In this role she applies her marketing and communications expertise to drive awareness and capture demand for BlackDice’s products. Her approach combines a deep understanding of both digital and traditional marketing techniques, underscored by a commitment to data-driven results.
In her role as Vice Chair - Events, Rachael is dedicated to enhancing the professional development of marketers at every career stage. She’s passionate about educational initiatives that deliver real-world applicability and strategic insights, aiming to empower marketers to adeptly manage both vertical and lateral career moves. Her aim is to enrich marketers’ skills and broaden their perspectives to enhance their professional impact.
Rachael is passionate about elevating the strategic role of marketing, particularly in B2B sectors, advocating for marketing to be recognised as a fundamental driver of business success. She champions this cause within CIM, striving to ensure that marketing excellence is acknowledged at the highest levels of industry.

Michelle Hurford ACIM
I’m Michelle Hurford, a marketing manager for a mid-sized financial company who enjoys bringing ideas and people together to make good things happen. Over the years, I’ve worked across finance, energy, health & wellness and brand-growth firms, building campaigns, strengthening brands, and helping teams communicate with confidence and purpose.
I believe marketing works best when it’s honest, practical, and human. I love creating spaces where people feel comfortable sharing ideas, learning from each other, and leaving inspired to try something new.
As a CIM Events Ambassador for the Yorkshire region, I’m looking forward to working alongside other passionate marketers to build a strong, connected community. Focused on creating events that encourage collaboration, spark new thinking, and support professional growth—for people who might be just starting or have years of experience behind them.
