Director of Marketing, Communications & Community – Everton Football Club & Chief Executive of Everton in the Community
Richard was appointed Director of Marketing and Communications in January 2014 following an interim consultancy role with the Club which included working with fans to redesign the Club's current crest. He arrived at Everton from Kenyon Fraser which - initially as Managing Director and then as Chief Executive - he built into one of the leading marketing and communications agencies in the North and one of the fastest-growing in the UK. A lifelong Evertonian, his role is to oversee and drive Marketing, Insight, Corporate Communications, PR and Media functions, Fan Services and the Club’s Fan Centre. Richard previously worked for the PFA and MLS and acted as Interim Head of Marketing and Communications for The Jockey Club in the North West and the Grand National. He has also worked closely with the R&A on golf’s oldest major, the Open Championship. In June 2018, Richard took on an expanded role to become Director of Marketing, Communications & Community, also taking on the position of Chief Executive of Everton in the Community.
Richard is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and Chair of the CIM in the North West.

I have over 20 years of international experience in marketing, sales, client acquisition, business development and project management.Currently I am the “Creator of Opportunities” Commercial Director at KODE. I look after the commercial direction of KODE. This includes bid writing, project management sales and marketing but also presenting any national and international commercial opportunities for KODE. In my role as Ambassador for Creative I attend shows such as Prolific North, I mentor business leaders and help out in any way that I can, including attracting new members to CIM.I am a veteran having spent eight years in the Scots Guards.My career has seen me work with some amazing companies like Inside Entertainment with clients such as the UFC, Visit Las Vegas and the Toronto International Film Festival and Hugo Boss.Here in Liverpool I was the Sales and Marketing Director at Voyage the travel and tourism magazine of Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
Rachael joined Liverpool based social enterprise and charity PSS in 2012 following posts in the Children’s Social Care and Social Marketing Sector. As PSS’ first Head of Communications she led the PSS rebrand of early 2013 and worked to integrate a new approach to communications across the teams. In May 2014 Rachael was appointed Director of PSS’ newest Directorate ‘Business Development and Innovation’. Rachael is now responsible for leading on bids for new work, motivating a culture of innovation across the teams which bring new ideas to the work PSS do in addition to continually raising PSS’ profile. Rachael is a Chartered Marketer and also a Fellow of the University of Liverpool

As Founder and MD of Marketing Projects, Jane has been based in Chester since 1995 with B2B clients in the North West and London, occasionally the US. She studied Mechanical Engineering at Leeds and began working at Pilkington plc at its HQ in 1982 when it was a FTSE 100 company.
Having been involved in a marketing role since 1986 and the CIM for the same amount of time, she is passionate about continuing professional development and the networking, mentoring and fast track learning opportunities CIM should offer members.
Her past roles include Chairman & President of the Merseyside & North Wales branch 1997-2000 and North West PR Officer for the Institute of Directors 1999-2005.
She sees her current role on the North West Board to:- Raise awareness of CIM and marketing best practice,- Demonstrate the link between great marketing and business growth,- Promote membership, - Instigate CIM networking and learning opportunities, and - Liaise with the NW LEPs and organisations in the energy sector.
Jane was a Runner up in the Merseyside Women in Business ‘Business Person of the Year 2000’ and 2013’s Cheshire ‘Inspirational Women in Business’ awards and is a lecturer and public speaker on marketing topics, latterly social media crisis management, B2B marketing for growth and GDPR.
Her current role at Marketing Projects allows a better balance of home and work life. She is married with three grown up children and enjoys travel with a video production unit and broadcast studio in her rucksack.
Construction Sector Ambassador
I’m currently the Director of Time54 Marketing, an agency specialising in helping businesses within the Building and Interiors sectors tell their story, connect with their customers, raise awareness and ultimately increase their sales.I have 13 years’ experience within the Construction sector. After graduating from Edge Hill University back in 2006 (it still feels like last year!) my first job was a Marketing Executive and was my first taste of the Construction sector.Since then, I have worked for Building Product Manufacturers after setting up agency Time54, with the aim to help companies within the sector raise their profiles.I was appointed as the Construction Sector Ambassador for the CIM at the start of 2018, where my aim is to promote marketing best practice within the sector and inspire and encourage marketing professionals within the industry to shape and advance the sector.Outside of work (and in-between trying to raise a family of two young children), I mentor marketing professionals, and about to launch a new blog which provides guidance and support in advancing marketing careers. It is aimed at everyone involved or wanting to get involved in marketing, from students through to senior level marketers.
Stephen has worked in a variety of sectors starting his career as a litho printer working in the commercial print and security ID sectors. Moving through the ranks to production management he has performed both operational and production management roles.Following a move to a large blue-chip retail business he eventually took an internal move into the marketing team. In his own words this “opened up a whole new world” as he studied the CIM Advanced Certificate and the Postgraduate Diploma whilst experiencing roles in a variety of disciplines; product and campaign management, branding and finally as their first E-Commerce manager in the early noughties.This led to a spell at a leading online comparison brand as the Head of Intermediary Marketing before moving back into manufacturing as the Director of Marketing & Business Development for an SME packaging company. After embarking on a new brand strategy and switching the focus to NPD Stephen project managed an industry changing recycling project funded by WRAP UK. After tripling the revenue, the business was acquired by a large group, Stephen moved up into a group role managing six sites in the UK and Ireland before it attracted a multi-billion Spanish organisation which acquired the group and added the sites to its international portfolio.Stephen then moved into the public sector for a short spell delivering an ERDF project designed to support new start and SME businesses operating in the Automotive, Engineering, Environmental or Advanced Manufacturing sectors in the North West of England. Following this consultancy taster Stephen formed Vision Consulting Group in 2015 offering both strategic planning and tactical campaign management support to manufacturing SMEs in the Northwest region.
Interesting fact: Stephen has a passion for both punk music and rugby union. He can still be found bouncing around gigs and muddy pitches even at the ripe old age of 52. Some people never learn.Ambassador responsibilities: Stephen actively supports the Northwest regions businesses in his role as the Manufacturing Ambassador and as an Associate for the Manufacturing Technology Centre.
Peter Gaunt has over 30 years experience working with small businesses, as a marketing and business development director and, over the last 15 years in consultancy and business support. Peter led workshop development for Growth Accelerator nationally and workshop delivery in the North of England and led major SME support programmes in Wales and the North of England.Peter is currently Relationship Manager for the Manchester-based Business Growth Hub, working closely with membership organisations, local authorities, and commercial firms supporting small businesses.From 1995 to 2003 Peter was CPD Officer for Manchester CIM branch and has been a Chartered Marketer since the award was first established in 1998. Peter has an MSc in Marketing Management (MMU) and is also a Chartered Engineer (BSc metallurgy).Peter is particularly interested in scale-up, international trade, and innovation.
