A message from the chair, February 2017

Brian Doidge, Chair South West Regional Board

I am pleased to report that we have enjoyed a very positive, dynamic start to the new year.

I am particularly pleased that we have now received formal confirmation of our Regional Board structure which will help us to go from strength to strength and as a result the board is currently seeking five new enthusiastic sectorial ambassadors to join us.  

In addition to the really good events already delivered, we have more planned, which continue to manifest our belief that creating appropriate cross regional coverage, to afford access to events near you, becomes the norm rather than the exception.  As you will see, as well as continuing to offer events in Bristol, Gloucestershire and Exeter for example, we have also formally planned for events in Shaftesbury, Taunton and Truro, which we are very excited about.

We have also had some recent Board changes as a result of the excellent news surrounding one of our Vice Chairs, Fiona Spencer, who was unsurprisingly successful in being elected to the CIM Board of Trustees and of course as well as congratulating her, we know she will do an excellent job. We therefore welcome a new Vice Chair Barbara Stopher who will ensure we have a seamless transition and of course complement the invaluable role carried out by Luan Wise, who will continue to do the sterling work as our other Vice Chair.
