CIM has announced Brian Doidge is the new chair of the South West regional board.

Some descriptionSome descriptionBrian is a Chartered Marketer and holds a Masters Degree in Marketing. He currently is a director, consultant, mentor and academic, who is passionate about supporting fellow professionals to achieve their potential. A current member of the CIM Global Delivery Framework, he has a professional background that as well as seeing him working with three of the South West’s Universities and two Further Education Colleges, also includes, a number of challenging posts within some of the World’s largest and most well-known organisations, including Unilever and Walmart .

Brian said: “I am of course honoured to have been appointed as the new chair of the South West Regional Board and I am really looking forward to working with the team, to build upon the excellent work already being undertaken. In particular, as well as being grateful for the warmth of the welcome I have received, I am also both fortunate and grateful to the outgoing chair John Taylerson, and network manager Christine Boswell Munday for the strong legacy I am inheriting, which has prepared us well for the exciting developments ahead.”

Some descriptionOutgoing chair, John Taylerson, who runs Taylerson's Malmesbury Syrups, has been actively involved with CIM in the South West for over nine years, holding the chair position since 2012 and acting as an ambassador for marketers in the food and drink industry.

John comments: “As an accidental chair, who just stepped in, I have enjoyed the past four years. I wanted to make a difference by improving the diversity of the regional board and increasing the linkage with market sectors.  I also wanted to raise the profile of the board, and chair in the hope that the chair’s role becomes more of a figurehead for members and encourages more membership and their participation in running CIM.”

He added:” I think the new chairs appointment highlights this with Brian having both the experience and standing to lead the new CIM initiative for regions.”
