Some descriptionThe CIM team in Gloucestershire has just made ‘the pledge’ to GFirst LEP ‘ Help make Gloucestershire great’ campaign.

GFirst LEP is encouraging Gloucestershire business people to gain recognition for their activities, by making them and the wider business community aware of the great things they give their time to.

GFirst is inspiring people to volunteer their time  ‘or make the pledge’ by getting involved in local activities and  business projects throughout 2016 and jointly raise awareness of what a great place Gloucestershire is to do business.

The belief is by working together businesses and their Local Enterprise Partnership can grow the local economy. Local businesses are pledging their meeting venues to host business events, offering work experience and even pledging to take on apprentices.

The CIM team in Gloucestershire has got behind the campaign and has pledged to:

  • Represent, support and raise standards of the marketing profession in Gloucestershire to both CIM members and non-members.
  • Provide key points of contact and opportunities to learn and share marketing best practice via local events.

Some descriptionLuan Wise, chair of CIM’s  (The Chartered Institute of Marketing) team in Gloucestershire has pledged to speak to students at local schools to inspire them to consider a career in marketing. Luan says: Recounting career stories is a valuable way to instill a work ethic and passion to succeed in young people. It makes everything real. Personally, I love hearing all the questions, and being able to reflect on my own career path.”

If you are based in Gloucestershire, you can still make your own pledge to the project by visiting the website or get involved with the local CIM team’s pledge by emailing Luan Wise.  If you are looking for inspiration search #1000GLStories on Twitter, to get pledge inspiration from local business people.
