Arts University Bournemouth’s Marketing department and Alumni/Staff Agency Bond & Coyne are celebrating a double-win at the 2015 CIM Marketing Excellence Awards, which took place in London on 27th April. Their app — kscope — won in the Innovation category and the Chair’s Grand Prix award.

kscope — a kaleidoscope app for iOS and Android — was developed by AUB, in partnership with Bond & Coyne, to reflect the creativity of the university and encourage users to share their view of the world. kscope was highlighted by Apple as one of the App Store’s ‘Best New Apps’ during launch week and has received over 60,000 downloads to date.

The chair commented: “Each and every entry has proven the astronomical effect that teamwork, dedication, and exceptional marketing efforts can have on an organisation. But for me, there’s one finalist who’s courage, beautiful execution, and distinctive approach requires further recognition. For that reason, this year’s Chair’s Grand Prix award goes to Arts University Bournemouth in partnership with Bond & Coyne!”

Simon Pride, Head of Marketing and Communications at AUB, said: “Being recognised among some of the very best brands and agencies is a huge achievement for AUB and one I’m incredibly proud of. It’s proof that HE marketing can operate at the highest level. I’m delighted to have kscope — our gift to the curious — recognised as a reflection of the creativity that AUB has to offer.”

The annual CIM Marketing Excellence Awards are the benchmark for best marketing practice in the UK. Nominees on the night included brands and companies such as Diageo, ASDA, Post Office, Sony, Adidas, Sky, Barclaycard, Royal Bank of Scotland, Benefit, and agencies such as M&C Saatchi, Ogilvy and Mather, Sister, Brand and Deliver and We Are Social.
