Experts offer guidance at the Gloucestershire Business Show

Some descriptionHelping businesses protect themselves from the threat of cyber-crime is set to be one of the highlights of the inaugural Gloucestershire Business Show.

Experts in cyber-security from Gloucestershire Constabulary have signed up to lead on the theme and will also headline support for the Learning and Development Hub at the show.

The theme will include sessions on cyber-security and civil law, cyber-security and accounting, staying safe in The Cloud and a forum on cyber-securing business communications.

Ian Maxted, safer cyber coordinator for the Constabulary said;
“Rapid advances in technology and ever increasing reliance upon the Internet to drive everyday business, creates opportunities for cyber-crime. We are committed to ensuring that business within Gloucestershire should be able to benefit from the advances in technology without fear of crime and our commitment to reducing the risk of becoming a victim requires a collaborative and educational effort.”

Eleven themes for the show have been developed in discussion with local businesses at events around the county. Around each theme will be a series of talks, workshops, drop-in sessions and discussion panels. CIM Gloucestershire is one of the show’s business partners and local team members’, Fiona Spencer and Luan Wise, will both be speaking at the event. Fiona has also just been confirmed as a panellist for the ‘Marketing & Business for Micro Innovators’ session on Thursday 14 May on the Innovation stage.

The Gloucestershire Business Show takes place at The Centaur at Cheltenham Racecourse on 13 – 14 May. For further information and to reserve your tickets visit gloucestershire-business-show.co.uk
