Some descriptionCIM’ South West Regional Board, Vice Chair  Tunde Awe, MBA, Chartered Marketer proffered his advice to University of Plymouth students participating on the University’s 10th annual FLUX competition on 14 February.

FLUX is a fast-paced business competition, where students compete in teams to develop a business solution to a real-life business problem. The business challenge was set by Portcullis Legals and students spent the morning of the competition using a business tool called XING to develop their business plans.

Students then met with business professionals, Tunde representing Marketing and fellow professionals from the worlds of Strategy, HR and Finance to give advice and help the entrants refine their business plans accordingly. The teams then pitched their proposals in the afternoon.

Tunde Awe comments; “The competition provided students the opportunity to apply their practical and employability skills. It was inspiring to see the enthusiasm and aspirations of the students. I was glad to hear that some of them may consider a career in Marketing. It was a very insightful day and I was impressive to observe the growth of the winning team, Invictus, throughout the day’s activities.”

Invictus, now go on to pitch their ideas in a ‘final’ on 14 March.
