Some description

Five industry experts will sharthe latest trends, research and insights on how to:

  • Collect data and practical ways in which you can use it
  • Build and nurture your digital connections
  • Ensure your marketing performance meets your business objectives
  • Secure stakeholder engagement

CIM Course Director and award-winning author and lecturer at Imperial College and Cranfield School of Management, Daniel Rowes says; "With over 50 years of video viewing uploaded to YouTube every day*, how do you make your content stand out? Data is the key - I will be presenting on the latest trends in digital and five practical ways you can use data".

On the data theme, CIM Head of External Affairs and Content, Steve Woolley, will be discussing the findings of ‘Whose data is it anyway?’ a CIM study which surveyed more than 2,500 consumers and marketers to gain their insight into the use of personal data for marketing purposes.

Steve Woolley explains: "Our survey found that two-thirds (67%) of customers would share more personal information if organisations were more open about how they will use it.  My talk will focus on why marketers need to brush up on data rules, demonstrate clearly the value that personal data offers in delivering a more personalised experience, and be more open throughout the whole process.”

The event is hosted by The Met Office in Exeter and Dave Underwood, Deputy Director of the Met Office High Performance Computing Programme, responsible for implementing and exploiting the largest ever investment in Met Office supercomputing, will talk about the new Supercomputer and Stakeholder Engagement, following a fascinating tour of the Met Office.

Daniel Rowes, Steve Woolley and Dave Underwood are joined by fellow speakers, Roger Jones a digital marketing consultant and Luan Wise, independent marketing practitioner and Vice Chair of CIM South West Regional Board.

Luan adds; “It is a great opportunity for marketing professionals to network, and take time away from their desks to consider the changes marketing is experiencing in a digital world”.

Marketing in a Digital World, takes place on 22 March 2017 at The Met Office in Exeter. The conference costs £125 for CIM members, £155 for non-members and includes refreshments during the day.
