Some description

As CIM nears the end of its 50 North East Marketing Greats, they invite you to meet Eve Lenez, Marketing Manager at Port of Tyne. The award-winning Port of Tyne is a major deep-sea port connected by sea, road and rail to five continents.

The initiative aims to develop and retain marketing talent in the North East region.  Diane Earles, Network Manager for CIM, explains "Through the 'Marketing Greats' we want to provide insight into the importance of a strategic marketing function and to inspire both existing marketing professionals and young people considering a career in marketing.  Each 'Marketing Great' is profiled in an online case study which includes their words of wisdom for aspiring marketers alongside their career story and why they enjoy working in the region."  She continued, "Developing our original 'Great North East Brands' initiative, which ran for a number of years, 'Marketing Greats' provides a regional platform for marketing to be recognised as having a key role in business growth while celebrating the number of senior marketers located in the North East."

Like Eve Lenez, who wanted a career in which she could travel the world and meet lots of new people, and found it in marketing.  Before joining Port of Tyne in June 2013, Eve did a Masters in Management majoring in Marketing in France.  Eve explained, "During my degree I was able to do a gap year in the UK which I followed up with an apprenticeship as a Product Manager at one of the major French banks. I have since worked in the UK and US in Product Management and Marketing roles enabling me to travel to some great places."  She continued, "The friendliness of people and great sense of humour make the North East a great place to live."
