As CIM nears the end of its 50 North East Marketing Greats, they invite you to meet Stacy Hall, Managing Director of her own consultancy firm, Stacy Hall Associates Ltd.
The initiative aims to develop and retain marketing talent in the North East region. Diane Earles, Network Manager for CIM, explains "Through the 'Marketing Greats' we want to provide insight into the importance of a strategic marketing function and to inspire both existing marketing professionals and young people considering a career in marketing. Each 'Marketing Great' is profiled in an online case study which includes their words of wisdom for aspiring marketers alongside their career story and why they enjoy working in the region." She continued, "Developing our original 'Great North East Brands' initiative, which ran for a number of years, 'Marketing Greats' provides a regional platform for marketing to be recognised as having a key role in business growth while celebrating the number of senior marketers located in the North East."
Like Stacy Hall, who has always lived and worked in the North East and has a genuine interest in seeing people, businesses and organisations in the area succeed. She said, "As a consultant you have the opportunity to work with a wide range of clients and add real strategic value through sharing your experiences and knowledge." On a more personal level, she added, "I really enjoy helping people to develop and grow their careers and have mentored several marketers." Her advice to them is “If you see an opportunity through a project at work ask if you can get involved and contribute your ideas - even if it's not part of your current role. Employers will value your insight into marketing to young people and you can help them keep up to date with new trends." And finally, "If you have the chance to study with CIM, go for it! You'll find it invaluable in backing up your practical experience and giving a different perspective."
