Some descriptionSome 75 CIM members and students were updated on the latest developments in digital marketing at a recent CIM Midlands event with Daniel Rowles, one of the UK’s leading experts on the subject.

With more than 50% of searches and 90% of Facebook activity now on mobile and 90% of mobile media time spent via Apps/messaging chatbots (Ofcom, 2017), mobile has rapidly emerged as the first choice for consumers. It’s therefore vital to understand how to integrate mobile to optimise marketing effectiveness.

A CIM course director and lecturer at Imperial College London, Daniel addressed this challenge at our Digital Marketing and the Mobile Consumer event (November 29), explaining how the era of the mobile consumer is changing the way marketers need to engage with consumers.

Students and practitioners alike were able to gain a better appreciation of the digital journey, including the rapid rise of mobile, and grasp the cultural changes most likely to impact on consumer engagement, acquisition and retention.

Delegates were welcomed to the new University of Wolverhampton Business School by the Dean, Miceál Barden, and a vote of thanks was proposed by Derek Milward, Vice Chairman of the CIM’s Board of Trustees.

Also author of Digital Branding 2014 and Mobile Marketing 2017 and co-host of the Digital Marketing Top 10 business podcast on iTunes, Daniel Rowles is a highly respected and engaging presenter. The level of interest in mobile marketing is such that we are looking to invite him to lead another CIM Midlands workshop in 2018. Watch this space for further details.
