Profile: take control of your LinkedIn persona
How do you create an authentic, online persona that gets you and your business noticed? At our upcoming CIM/UEL Marketing Club, James Potter, also known as ‘The LinkedIn Man’, will offer some advice on how you can develop your own brand, language, and style – and be noticed for all the right reasons.
How well connected are you?
LinkedIn, the social network for professionals, has been around for 15 years and was bought by Microsoft in 2016. The platform now has 546 million users in 200 countries, with around 21 million in the UK. According to LinkedIn the platform exists to “connect the world's professionals to make them more productive and successful”. Last year London was lauded as the most connected place, with 307 connections per person on average.
Introducing James Potter
James is an enthusiastic LinkedIn evangelist: “I have the best job in the world! I get to turn the ‘lights on’ in people’s heads, to share the things that they haven't realised, highlight paths they haven't considered and share what LinkedIn can do to help them in business and make their future even better.”

About this CIM/UEL Marketing Club
The aim of the Marketing Club is to give practicing marketers an opportunity to take some time-out, challenge thinking, learn new skills and share experiences with the next generation of marketing talent. It’s also designed to give students interested in careers in marketing an opportunity to network with people already working at the coalface.
