Bloggers: thanks Mieke, welcome Carly and carry on Eileen

Some descriptionSome descriptionWhen we launched the new Professional Marketer Series of events in London in September 2015, two roles were created for event bloggers. Mieke Stones of London Sport and Eileen Donaghey of Anthony Gold Solicitors volunteered to share their takeaways from these events as official bloggers for the region. Having contributed event reports since then, Mieke is now handing over the reins to Carly Price, whilst Eileen is continuing to offer her perspectives on these events. You can find out about our most recent event on ‘Brexit, Trump… whatever next’ from Carly’s blog and Eileen’s report.

Meet Carly Price

Some descriptionSome descriptionSome descriptionLondon-based business-to-business marketer, Carly, thrives on travel, tech and trends. She works for retail tech and consultancy business eCommera and looks forward to getting more actively involved in CIM's London community as our official blogger.

Carly’s experience spans the marketing communications spectrum, gained across Europe and Asia Pacific. As an Oxford language graduate, Carly decided to study for the CIM Diploma in Professional Marketing. We’re delighted to say she has achieved this qualification with merits in every module. Congratulations!

If you missed our January event with experts delving into the future post-Brexit, you can find out about if from Carly. Here’s what she had to say:

“Following Donald Trump’s inauguration on 20 January and the vote for Brexit in June of last year, many of us are left feeling uncertain what the future holds. Last week’s CIM London event, “Brexit, Trump… whatever next”, attempted to shed some light on what recent events might mean specifically for domestic and global marketing through a lively discussion… Here are my four key takeaways for marketers from the event.”

Carry on Eileen

Some descriptionMarketing Manager at Anthony Gold Solicitors, Eileen Donaghey, remains an official blogger for CIM in the region. Despite an aversion to discussing politics, Eileen also went along to our recent event and provides her takeaways from the night.

“If there is anything I hate more than talking about politics it is writing about it. I generally shy away from politics so was somewhat unsure of what to expect from the CIM ‘Brexit, Trump…whatever next?’ event.

Alongside some interest stats around voting behaviour and trust, Paul Flatters made one excellent point which I really could relate to as a marketer...”

Find out what that was, read Eileen’s report: What does Trump and Brexit mean for marketers?

Thank you Mieke

Having shared her learnings from Professional Marketer Series, Mieke Stones is now stepping down from her role as official blogger. In her working life, Mieke is the Marketing and Communications Manager for London Sport but managed to find time to review our London events. This year Mieke has swapped her blogging role for a completely new challenge – to forego cars and public transport by being entirely self-powered cycling, walking and running for the whole of 2017. Mieke calls her new adventure Powered by me. Read about Mieke’s inspiration for Powered by Me.

Phil Preston, CIM Network Manager for the region comments:

“I wish Mieke all the very best for the future and I’m certain we’ll still cross paths at CIM events in London, albeit she’ll be off-duty! Her post-event reports have meant that those who couldn’t make it on the night were still able to benefit from the presentations, while those who did go could reflect on the key points. I’m delighted that Mieke has contributed so successfully in this voluntary role, sharing her event reviews with other London marketers and I offer her a vote of thanks, from the London region.”
